Events
SAIC organise five pitch events per a year at Camberley Heath Golf Club. These meetings offer a maximum of four companies the opportunity to present to potential investors. Each meeting takes place in the morning followed by a networking lunch.
Prospective members/guests and representatives of other angel groups are always welcomed at our meetings; non-members may attend as a guest on two occasions, after which we ask you apply for membership.
In addition, there is a monthly lunch club as well as summer social events - an ideal opportunity to network with a peer group of investors. Previous social events have been held at RHS Wisley, Leander Club in Henley and Newbury Racecourse.

Southern Angel Investors Club celebrates inaugural awards
Southern Angel Investors Club (‘SAIC’) recognised outstanding investor contribution, investment success and long-standing support at its first annual awards, held during its June meeting at Camberley Heath Golf Club.
Oxford Innovation Opportunity Network (‘OION’) were awarded the Angel Group of the Year award for their long-standing relationship with SAIC. Universal Signalling was voted Investment of the Year, an investment led by SAIC’s Philip Day who won SAIC Investor of the Year award; created to recognise the member who made the greatest contribution to SAIC’s activity during the year. Richard Cooper and Stephen Head attended the meeting to receive the awards on behalf of OION AND Universal Signalling.
A special Lifetime Achievement award was given to Tony Carter for his outstanding contribution to SAIC and to Angel investing in general over more than 20 years. Tony Carter recently stood down as President of SAIC having led the organisation since its formation in 2020 .
“These awards are an opportunity to recognise the members, partners and investments that have made an outstanding contribution to our community. We are delighted to celebrate their achievements and to put them forward as our nominations for the UKBAA 2026 awards - we wish all SAIC’s nominees the very best of luck .” Michael Penny, Chairman SAIC
Southern Angel Investors Club Celebrates Fourth Annual Summer Social
The Southern Angel Investors Club (SAIC) hosted its fourth annual Summer Social on board the Hibernia, bringing together members and guests for an evening of networking, conversation and fine dining on the River Thames.
Departing from Henley-on-Thames, attendees enjoyed a warm summer evening cruising along one of Britain's most picturesque waterways. The event provided an opportunity for members to strengthen existing relationships, welcome new faces to the network and celebrate the growing success of the Club's angel investment community.
Michael Penny, Chair of SAIC, commented:
"We find the annual Summer Social and our monthly lunches are hugely popular with members. The informal atmosphere provides an excellent opportunity for networking and for getting to know fellow members in greater depth. These events help strengthen the relationships that make our investment community so valuable."
The Summer Social has become a much-anticipated fixture in the SAIC calendar. Previous events have been held at RHS Wisley, the Leander Club and Newbury Racecourse, each providing a unique setting for members to connect outside the formal investment environment.
As SAIC continues to support entrepreneurs and investors across Southern England, its social events remain an important part of fostering collaboration, sharing experience and building lasting professional relationships. Whether on land or water, members can look forward to another memorable gathering in 2027.
